Public Comment on the Sexton Mascot

I–and a lot of the Sexton community–didn’t like the way the Board of Education presented the Sexton mascot change as an opportunity for student voice and autonomy, and then didn’t honor the students’ majority choice. Thankfully, after public outcry, key members of the board changed their minds and students’ voices were heard.

You can view my public comment in the recording of the December 1, 2022 board meeting (23:52-27:21).
